What don’t you do?
I design and build systems. I don’t run them day to day. That means no bookkeeping, no legal or compliance, no hiring, no sales ops, no vendor management, and no deep software engineering. I’ll build you the thing and show you how it works. Someone on your team drives it after that.
Will you run this stuff for me once it’s built?
No, and that’s deliberate. I build systems your team can actually operate. If I’m still the one logging in six months later, something went wrong. Same goes for bookkeeping, legal, hiring, and sales ops. Not my lane, and you’ll get better people for those.
I don’t really know what I need yet. Is that a problem?
No — that’s usually the starting point. If you knew exactly what to ask for, you’d probably just hire someone to build it. Most people come to me with a mess and a feeling that something isn’t working. Sorting out what you actually need is the work.
How much of my time will this take?
For a sprint, expect focused sessions with me, plus some thinking between them. For an ongoing partnership, it varies — but the goal is to take work off your plate, not add to it. I’ll tell you upfront if something needs more from you than you’re expecting.
I’m not very technical. Will I be able to keep up?
Yes. A lot of my clients aren’t technical, and they’ve ended up with systems they didn’t choose so much as accumulate. I don’t explain things in jargon and I don’t hand you something you can’t maintain. If I build it, I’ll show you how it works.
Do you build websites?
Sometimes — along with email systems, analytics, workflows, and AI tooling. Other times the right move is bringing in someone better than me at that particular thing, and I’ll find them, brief them properly, and make sure it lands. Either way you get the thing you actually need.
What if I just want a second opinion?
Book a single session. That’s what it’s for. No expectation of anything after it.
How do we start?
A short call, free, 20 minutes. We talk about what’s going on and I’ll tell you honestly whether I’m the right person — and who to talk to if I’m not.
Where are you based? Do you work remotely?
I’m split half and half between Comox Valley on Vancouver Island and Vancouver itself. I work with clients remotely, and I’m always glad to work in person when we’re close enough for that to make sense.
How does payment work?
50% upfront for sprints, monthly in advance for retainers.
