You built it by hand. That’s why it works, and why everything waits for you.
I believe the people who build things by hand deserve a business that
runs without them in the middle of everything. I map how yours actually
runs, then build the systems that make that true.
Every business I work with was built by someone who wanted to be in every
decision. That’s not a problem to fix. It’s the reason the thing exists.
But it does mean everything waits for you. Over time you end up holding so
many pieces that you can’t find the perspective to grow.
I believe the way you built it is worth protecting. The work isn’t taking the making away from you. It’s making sure it isn’t the only way anything happens.
Meet Lara
Systems Strategist & Business Coach
I did it because no one else would. I co-founded a learning community from scratch because I was tired of kids being asked what they’ll be when they grow up, instead of who they want to be right now.
It’s the same belief I bring to your business: you should get to be who you want to be in it, not just the person holding it up.
I’ve been the founder who wanted to be in every decision. I’ve also been the engineer, the game designer, the head of product, the scrum master, the board member. What I do now is the same thing I did in all of those roles: look at how a group of people and a pile of tools are actually working together, find where it’s breaking, and fix it.
Certified Organizational Coach (UBC). Certified ScrumMaster. I work with the people and the tools, because it’s never only one of them.
I live between the Comox Valley and Vancouver. Island ferry schedule permanently memorized.

How I work
Clarity first.
We get clear on where the business is going before I touch a single tool.
Map before build.
I go find out how it actually runs today, every revenue stream, tool,
handoff and place something falls through.
You stay in it.
This isn’t something I do to your business while you watch.
One person, no handoff.
The one who maps it is the one who builds it, so nothing gets lost in
translation.
One piece at a time.
We trace the leak that’s costing the most, fix it, measure it, then move
to the next.
How we can work together
Get moving in days, not months
If you’re building something new…
We start from scratch, on purpose. What you’re actually offering, who it’s for, what you’re saying, and what needs to exist before you launch. You leave with a foundation and a plan, instead of a pile of half-decisions.
If you’re already running…
We map what you’ve got — every revenue stream, every tool, every handoff, every place something falls through. You see your business drawn out, probably for the first time, and you leave knowing exactly what to fix first.
However we end up working together, we start the same way. We get clear on where the business is going, then I go find out how it actually runs today.

In practice this looks like
One founder was ready to launch a new business but felt buried under it before she’d even started. We ran a Foundation Sprint. Instead of opening up more decisions and more ideas, we took one piece at a time. Thought wide, then narrowed. By the end, she wasn’t holding twenty open questions anymore. She was holding one next step, and she trusted it.
Five businesses, one set of numbers. Events, produce, beekeeping classes, and a few more besides, all run by one person out of one farm, with years of tools layered on top of each other. A website that wasn’t converting, an email system half set up, and no way to tell where a customer had come from. We didn’t rebuild it all at once. We traced the leak that was costing the most, fixed it, measured it, then moved to the next. Within six weeks she could see, in plain numbers, what was working and what wasn’t.

Robyn Panton
Robyn Panton,Founder of the Ajaya Method
“Working with Lara was such an enjoyable and grounding experience. She met me exactly where I was in my product development journey and helped bring clarity to a vision that had felt overwhelming and hard to articulate. Her process was thoughtful and insightful — I walked away not only with a clear direction, but also with renewed confidence in my idea and what comes next.”
Melissa Thiessen
Melissa Thiessen,Founder of Thiessen Mediation
“I had two different audiences and kept trying to speak to both at the same time on my website. Lara helped me separate those pieces and find language that actually addressed each of them. I learned that you can get really entrenched and protective about your own words, but Lara built trust around that process quickly. We found language that reflected exactly what I wanted to say, in far less time than I would have spent going over and over it alone. The feedback since has been really great.”

“If you’re looking to accelerate your business and get team alignment, these sprints are a tremendous way to do that. They give you a context shift on what you’re trying to accomplish.”
Brooke Sherwood
Brooke Sherwood,Founder @ The New Wave Venture
“This sprint solves the problem you know you have but can’t even really explain. If you want increased clarity & alignment do it. If you want to save months of potentially wasted time, do it.”
What I build
Once we know the plan, I help build it. Same person, no handoff, nothing lost in translation.
Data and analytics
Know where every customer came from. Tracking that actually works: Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and the connections between your website and wherever people book or buy. Reporting you’ll open more than once.
Systems & operations
Anyone can find things without asking you. Google Workspace, Airtable, Notion, automations, integrations. Where your information lives, who owns it, and how a new person finds it without asking you.
Web & marketing
Say what you mean, where people will find it. Website design and build, email marketing, marketing strategy, and the writing that goes with it.
AI where it helps
Custom workflows that take real work off your team’s plate. Only where it earns its place.
Not sure which of these you need? That’s usually the first thing we figure out.
Let’s talk
Not sure which fits? That’s normal.
Start with a conversation and we’ll figure it out.
